Turkmenistan - the door to hell?

Thinking about a myriad of things before my grand departure in one week.
The list goes as follows:

The 5 1/2 minute hallway and the Navidson Record

Elvis Presley's "Heartbreak Hotel"

Taken in my grandmother's backyard right before the security guard from Lowes asked me if I had seen a rouge shoplifter running through the area
Clover, Meet Blue Jacket
Dune, always thinking about Dune
and
The Darvaza Well (aka Hells Door)

I'm hoping that the culmination of these things will aid in some sort of clarification of the work I intend to make in Slovakia. Right now, I'm not sure if this is possible.

Clover, Meet Blue Jacket

A haunting image from the pages of the Twin Falls Times News
I'm not really sure what this is supposed mean, but I think it's rather profound.

Away from the snakes

Holidays filled with ridiculous amounts of food, family, framing, and of course, loafing. I'm stuffed on the season and am looking forward to the busy weeks ahead me. Planning the trip to Slovakia has gone smoothly thus far, I've got Mr. Valentine's Mamiya and a HV40 on the way, and if things go according to plan, some less jittery nerves to boot.

The Official Lightning and Thunder insignia

In the meantime I've got two pieces up at the Coconino Cultural Center in Flagstaff, AZ in a show juried by Bill Jenkins called
Landscape Interrupted. Lighting Spot aka Pix Pix aka Christiana Caro also has a few pieces being shown as well. It's a great start to the new year and the Lightning and Thunder team. Right now we are working on our website to document the months ahead. You can visit it here, and you can check out Ms. Caro on my links (Pix Pix.)
