Just like it's 1884

Still image from a new idea... ved' sa ony stratia (that's me looking like a burrito)

Long hours spent in the editing studio have not been wasted thanks to two really great Slovakian film makers that I have been lucky enough to have in my life this past month. Due to many different factors (I'm blaming most of said factors on the PAL/NTSC debate,) I have luckily been able to curb major problems with a handful of projects that have been in the cutting room for about a month now. Whew... It was a close one.
Much of my process here has obviously been influenced by the extreme change that I have gone through in getting here. Unlike some, I am a creature of habit to a fault, and much of this aspect of my personality has made the adjustment to Slovakia a little bit slower than others may have experienced. Long story short... this is the fuel for a few visual moments that I think have the potential for aesthetic happiness.
At least one can hope...
I had a lovely weekend in woods and watched winter finially change into spring. Gearing up for an epic weekend in Prague!

Landscape Interrupted Pt. 2

As Forgotten 2009, One of the two dyptichs shown in the exhibition
As some of you know (mainly you dad since I'm pretty sure you are the only one reading my posts,) I was in Bill Jenkin's juried show "Landscape Interrupted" this winter. After much anticipation, the Coconino Arts Center finally put together a website that chronicles the artists and work that was shown for the exhibition. You can check it out here
Spending a lovely Saturday at the Danube!

I hate you compressor

A long morning at the editing studio feeds into my hatred of compressor, aspect ratio, and quicktime files. Major strain on my Wednesday eyes and patience...

On a lighter note, this image.
Also, I plan to make homemade conditioner out of mayo and eggs. My hair is painfully dry out here.

now I can really be a floating head

Is it hyperacute or just acute?

Luckily I have this totally helpful first aid guide, fully equiped with pictures that I can point to when the stretchers arrive.

Is it possible for one's body to go through transplant rejection by simply transplanting themselves into another country? This is the question that is running through my head as I enter into the 5th straight week of weird bodily reactions that have formed only as a reaction to my habitating in Bratislava. Today it's gutteral demise, last week it was a case of the black lung, the week before that... well, lets not get into to much detail. However, I do think it is interesting that no matter what I do, it seems as though it is my body's sole mission to destroy and distinguish the foreign material that is Bratislava in any way, shape, or form, which really stinks because I feel like I haven't left the house in days. Send the medics... I may just die out here.

And then it was March 1st

In our flat resides an amazing contraption called a bread maker. Pix Pix and I have been overwhelmed with the amazing possibilities this little machine has in the realm of all things bread. Above is an example of a delicious bread pudding I decided to make with the remnants of a raisin walnut variety. It is quite dangerous.

Bratislava weather is coming around, at 10 degrees Celsius, it's a beautiful day and it's just 10am. Plans include drawing supplies for a figure class I enrolled in, as well as a photo show titled East and West held in the center of town. Yesterday I caught an amazing exhibition at the national gallery that included relics from the Gothic and Slovakian Renaissance period. I was surprised to see most of the images of the trinity, passion, and general life of Christ were all but uplifting. Many of the idols depicted Christ as zombie like and green... I was also followed by many of the gallery attendants, which apparently is normal, but unnerving none the less.
