Planetary Bliss


An amazing gem I found thrifting a few days ago.
Written between 1914 and 1916, this seven movement suite composed by Gustav Holt makes me think of magic and summer time. It's worth a listen if you have space to lay on fresh cut grass and an open sky full of stars....

    I always hated how John WIlliams cribbed so much from The Planets for the Star Wars orchestration. Between Holst and Vaughn Williams, he kind of just cherry-picked...
